In my haste to share my insights with Miss de Marigny, I had neglected to prepare myself properly to speak with her. I had been looking forward to a discussion, but alas, my nerve failed me at the crucial moment. No matter. I will make up for lost time, and perhaps with a working prototype of my design I will be able to have a more in-depth discussion of the principles. After all, one truly cannot predict with complete accuracy an experiment's behaviour until it has encountered field conditions.

In light of the usual presence of Angelo in even my most routine tests, I have already taken the precaution of also reinforcing the broom's structure beyond the tolerances that I would reasonably expect it to have to withstand on my test flight. If I have learned nothing else from life in the company of Angelo, it is that overpreparedness is always the soundest strategy. I expect to finish my modifications early this evening.

I do not think Miss Brocklehurst enjoys flying, or I might offer to allow her to join my test flight.

de Marigny's insights on applied harmonics in gating are fascinating. I could read them all day. Unfortunately, as she has only published twice as sole author, I was not granted that pleasure, however, I did manage to locate several other works in which she was also credited. This, in turn, led to the discovery of several papers that I had not previously had the luxury of perusing in any sort of depth, although to read the entire body of work published by de Valois is not a mere afternoon's undertaking.

It appears that applying some of the same harmonic intervals in broom design could have staggering implications in both safety and speed. I must devote more time to this; I have been neglecting the project shamefully in favor of other pursuits. I am certain that Angelo would be happy to field-test some prototypes.

But to think that I might have the opportunity of discussing these insights with Miss de Marigny herself! I hope I shall be able to present myself coherently. She is, after all, of the female persuasion, and I fear that my gifts at speaking with same are sadly limited.

Received Bruno's report. My Enhancement Potion seems to have been effective. However, had he chosen to divulge his plans, I would have cautioned him against employing this potion in conjunction with alcohol, at least not without further trials, and certainly not on the persons of individuals likely to consume alcohol with no sense of moderation.

Note: Must observe reactions to Enhancement Potion with varying amounts of alcohol. Bruno may be an ideal subject, and is unlikely to object if it means he will become intoxicated.

I have been inexcusably unobservant. How could I have missed the symptoms of a demonic possession? My world is the demon world. It will not do to be caught unawares again.

Sadly, it seems I may temporarily have to limit my astronomical studies to those nights when I am actually in class. There is no good place to put a telescope here at St Hilda's College. That, if anything, will give me reason to go along with Angelo, Katya, Rodrigo, and Melly’s plans to return to Caerleon.

I could go on at length, but I have Herbalism in the morning and if I don’t sleep now I never will. I hope Miss Brocklehurst appreciated her gift.
